Week 9

Goal: Continue construction on physical model and work on structural analysis.

Group Members Jobs:

     - Carly Alessandro      - worked in Autodesk Inventor on structural analysis
     - Cody Johnson           - worked in Autodesk Inventor on structural analysis

Challenges: 
    Cutting the styrofoam was still a challenge for this week. Paulina and Renee went to the machine shop again and had to cut it with a saw which made it much easier than a knife. For Cody and Carly, converting wind speed (mi/hr) to velocity/dynamic pressure (psi) was also a challenge because it was needed for the structure analysis.

Outcomes of this week:
    The structural analysis in Autodesk Inventor is almost finished. The only thing left to do is describe the loads, shown in the analysis, in the final report. The physical model still needs some work but it is closed to being completed.

Week 8

Goal of week 8: Continue construction on physical model and work on structural analysis

Challenges: 
     The major challenge of this week was recreating our computer rendering into another software. Last week we realized that Visual Analysis would not work well with our model, and we switched to Autodesk Inventor. We couldn't easily import our CAD model into inventor, so we just created a simplified model in Inventor.
Outcomes of This Week: 


    Paulina and Renee went to the machine shop to cut the larger pieces of the model. Carly and Cody built a simplified model of the CN Tower in Autodesk Inventor and started to investigate how gravity, wind, and other daily loads affect the Tower using an analysis program in Inventor. We also started to draft our Final Report using the comments on our 70% report to help with modifications.
